While attending college in Pittsburgh, Denise would spend her summers working in guest reception for large, privately owned hotel in the Amish tourism area of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. There she gained extensive experience in group sales, front desk management and many “back of the house” operations.
Several years later, Denise became the General Manager and Group Sales Coordinator at a smaller hotel in the same locale. It was there she was able to grow and hone her skills in employee management, client services, group sales and food and beverage quality control. She says it was there she began to develop a broader perspective and realize how important tourism and the hospitality industry was to the community.
After ten years working in the hotel industry, Denise’s career path took a turn. She relocated to Florida and took a position in the insurance industry. Ironically, the two industries converged in her current job with Integrity Employee Leasing, a local payroll, workers’ compensation, benefits and HR service. Denise currently offers insurance and payroll advice to many local restaurants and tourism based companies.
